I gather that comprehension involves the use of several skills at the same time. Also two major benefits of comprehension is it enhances a students language and expands his or her vocabulary. Moreover 'good learners' are able to use a number of skills at the same time when doing comprehension. Comprehension requires the student to engage actively with the text, with the intention of clearly applying meaning to the text.

If I were to use this article for a form one Comprehesion exercise, these are some of the instructions and procedures as follows:
1. The passage entitled "Ants" will be read aloud in class and each interesting fact will be discussed.
2. Students will then be instructed to read the passage again in silence
3. After the reading activity students will be instructed to list the facts shared about ants in the section entitled 'Ants'
4. Students will then list three (3) kinds of ant colonies and list the function of each
5. Students will be asked to explain the role of the soldier ants in any colony.
6. Finally through a process of modelling students will create a table illustrating the characteristics of the five types of ants referred to in the reading.
