I gathered that reading comprehension involves a fusion between text levelunderstanding and priorknowledge and experience. It is suggested that proper decoding occurs when the student examines the text at both a micro and macro level. The microstructure is identified when the student recognizes the network of prepositions created by the student/reader linking ideas.The macrostructure refers to the general textual framework that concerns how those prepositions fit together.
The situation model is the term used to describe the integration of text base and prior knowledge and experience. It is suggested that the situation model is ideal for comprehending text.
